Mike Faist is an American actor born January 5, 1992 in Gahanna, Ohio, United States. His ethnicity is Caucasian while his nationality was English. Mike was adopted at birth by parents who own a successful real estate business. Besides, his mother is also a pilot.

As a kid, Faist remembers watching a lot of old MGM movies that were mostly on tape. His favorites then were the likes of Singing in the Rain , American in Paris , Star Wars and a few others. He was intrigued by the interpretations of actors and actresses in his early works and was equally imaginative and often had film stories, scenes and characters in his head where he was always the hero of his imaginative storyline.

Faist was enrolled in Gahanna Lincoln High School where he attended and graduated in 2009. Before that, he had already started auditioning for roles in community and children’s theaters in Ohio. After graduating, Mike Faist then traveled to New York where, upon arrival, he enrolled in the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, where he hoped to hone his acting and acting skills. However, only two semesters into his program, he chose to drop out to start auditioning for shows. This then launched his acting career effectively.

Acting career

Mike Faist’s acting career officially began with his first Nemesis theater credit (2011 in Paper Mill Playhouse and 2012-2013 in Nederlander Theater) as Morris Delancey. After that, Faist continued to record performances in other theatrical works like Appropriate (2014 at Pershing Square Signature Center) as Rhys Thurston, A Month in the Countryside (2015 in Classical Stage Company) as Aleksei Belyaev. Thespian’s latest plays are in Cher Evan Hansen as Connor Murphy which showed at Arena Stage in 2015, Second Stage Theater in 2016 and Music Box Theater in 2016-18. To his credit, he also starred in Days of Rage(2018) which was shown at the Second Stage Theater where he portrayed the character, Spence.

Like most actors and actresses, Spence started out in theater and later ventured into film and television series. His first recorded film was in The Indescribable Act (2012) as Tony, followed by Jaune (2015) as Skip in the short film and that same year he also portrayed the character of Gordie Joiner in The Sorrow of Others ( 2015). His other film credits include Benny in Our Time (2016), Ben in I Can I Want I Do (2017), then his teenage role in Active Adults 2017 and finally Lawrence in Wildling (2018).

Michael D. Faist also recorded a good portfolio in TV series like Eye Candy (2015) in episode: “Unaired Original Pilot” as Olsen, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2017) as Glenn Lawrence in “Complicated Episode” and his last television work Deception (2018) as Ben “Mekka” Evans in the episode “Masking”.

Although Mike Faist boasts of what may be considered a fledgling career in the film and television industry, his acting prowess has not gone unnoticed as the actor has notably won several awards and been nominated for several others. He is the 2017 winner of the People’s Choice Award in the Favorite Breakthrough Performance (Male) category for his work in Dear Evan Hansen. In theatrical work, the actor also won the 2018 Grammy Awards in the category of Best Musical Theater Album, and that same year Mike received the Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Musical Performance from Dear Evan. Hansen on the Today Show.
