Adam McKay was born on April 17, 1968 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Great Valley High School in Chester County, Pennsylvania. For college, he attended Pennsylvania State University and then transferred to Temple University. However, he left college a semester and a half before he could complete his studies. As a young aspiring actor, he performed and trained with Chicago’s Improv Olympic group (iO Theatre) and then formed the improvisational comedy group Upright Citizens Brigade with 7 other actors.
