Tom Brady Children Family Sisters Sons

Tom Brady is one of the most recognizable faces in American football. Born on August 3, 1977 in San Mateo, California, Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. is the youngest and only son of Galynn Patricia and Thomas Brady Sr. His father has Irish roots while his mother has Polish, Swedish and Norwegian ancestry. . . Brady and his three older sisters, Nancy, Julie and Maureen were raised Catholic.

Childhood and Brief History of Tom Brady

During the 1980s, Brady as a child with his family would often attend the San Fransisco 49ers game whenever they played in town. He has become a huge fan of quarterback Joe Montana, whom he recently mentioned as one of his earliest influences. Brady attended St. Gregory Elementary School and played sports such as flag football to soccer during recess and after school hours.

His love for sports continued to grow until Junipero Serra High School where he played baseball, basketball and football. Brady performed very well in these sports but had more passion for football hence his interest in turning pro. He became a hot prospect and got the chance to play professional football for the Montreal Expos. However, he declined and opted for college at the University of Michigan instead. After college, he was selected in the 6th round by the New England Patriots in the 2000 NFL Draft. And that marked the start of a successful NFL career.

Tom Brady family sisters

As stated earlier, Brady comes from a family of four and is the youngest and only son. Brady’s older sisters, namely Maureen, Julie and Nancy, were all accomplished athletes in their schools while growing up.

Maureen, the older sister born in 1974, was a star softball pitcher; At age 17, she qualified for the United States Junior Olympic Team and won a scholarship to attend California State University, Fresno. Maureen, who now resides in Bakersfield, Calif., is a softball instructor and nurse.

Second sister Julie born in 1975, now a teacher, Outstanding football player, she was later promoted to St. Mary’s College, California, then got a scholarship. Julie is married to former professional baseball player Kevin Youkilis.

Brady’s last sister, Nancy, born in 1976, was also an outstanding softball player. She earned a scholarship to Cal-Berkeley and attended Boston University’s School of Public Health where she earned a master’s degree in 2013. Nancy married Steve Bonelli in 2015 in an intimate wedding at Boston.

As they grew up, the Brady siblings were very supportive of each other’s athletic careers, anticipating one performance after another. However, at the time, the Brady sisters were more popular and talked a lot about the town, while Tom, who lived in the shadow of his sisters’ fame, was often referred to as Tommy or “little Brady”. This sparked a competitive spirit in Tom, allowing him to take something from his own sporting career and become a star one day.

Tom Brady, 17, wrote an essay titled “The Way My Sisters Influenced Me,” which he revealed on Facebook on June 23, 2016. The letter clearly reveals how Brady felt about his superstar sisters, whom he also said he was extremely proud. Brady said he only felt recognized when he was around his sisters, as people often questioned him or talked about their accomplishments. Here is the last paragraph of Brady’s essay;

…but no matter what awards people may give me or what records I may break, the most important thing for me is when I succeed in athletics but in life, the individuals who will always be there to support me and recognize me will be my three sisters…..Hopefully maybe one day people will walk up to them and say, “Aren’t you Tommy’s sister?” Or “Hey, where is your brother?”. Maybe…

Apparently, Tommy’s dream has come true as he is now a three-time MVP and a four-time Super Bowl champion. The table has definitely turned because the whole world knows his sisters because of him.

Tom Brady Family Son Children

Tom Brady like his older sisters built his own family. When he wrote in his essay about becoming a star one day, we bet he hadn’t dreamed of being married to another star; Brady married Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen in 2009. The pair, who met on a blind date set up by their mutual friend, began dating in 2006, shortly after Brady broke up with his former girlfriend. Brady and Bundchen married in two separate wedding ceremonies. The first, an intimate Catholic ceremony, took place on February 26, 2009 in Santa Monica, California. About two months later, the couple held another wedding ceremony in Costa Rica.

Brady and Bundchen have two children together Their son Benjamin Rein Brady was born on December 8, 2009 and their daughter Vivian Lake Brady was born on December 5, 2012. Tom fathered a son, John Edward Thomas Moynahan with his ex girlfriend, the actress Bridget Moynahan. John Edward Thomas Moynahan was born on August 22, 2007, becoming Brady’s first son and child. John is fully part of the family because Bundchen treats him like his own. Although his mother broke up with his father before he was even born, John remains in contact with his mother and his father makes sure of this by taking him to visit his mother regularly.

Brady’s middle son, Benjamin, already has his sports genes showing up, the young boy takes an interest in hockey. It wouldn’t surprise us if her other siblings find a passion in a sport of their own, but we’d forgive Vivian if she’d rather walk the catwalks like her supermodel super mom.
