Some of us live for the NFL and guys like StefonDiggs is the reason we can’t get enough of the National Football League’s version of the gridiron sport. Since Diggs joined The Purple People Eaters, he’s done enough phenomenal feats to convince the Minneapolis, Minnesota team that he’s a great receiver to keep.

As of July 31, 2018, the Purple and Gold team handed Mr Diggs another deal which would extend his stay with the camp. From what we learned, it was a five-year contract worth $72 million. The deal to be completed next year would see Stefon pocket up to $14 million per season. He also came with a $15 million signing bonus.

No one would say the wide receiver isn’t worthy of the contract, it’s well deserved as his three-year stint with The Vikes was highly productive. He started in 34 of the 40 games he played and could boast 15 touchdowns, 200 receptions and 2,472 receiving yards. Given that, he became the Vikes’ fastest wide receiver to hit 200 receptions.

It’s widely believed that this wide receiver would bring down so many walls in the NFL world. Aside from his aptitude for the game, it is because age would not be his enemy. The footballer was born on November 29, 1993, after which he was named Stefon Mar’sean Diggs. His birthplace was in Gaithersburg, Maryland where he was raised alongside his siblings.

As far as we can tell, Diggs has always been athletically inclined. During her high school days at Our Lady Of Good Counsel located in Olney, Maryland; he excels as both a sprinter and a footballer. Although he competed and performed remarkably well in several track and field events, it was his achievements as a footballer that earned him most of the attention he enjoyed.

Playing as a junior, he racked up 23 touchdowns, 810 receiving yards, and ultimately earned second place for Gatorade Maryland Player of the Year. Diggs continued to nurture his passion for the game and his senior year saw him do more. He went above and beyond for 8 touchdowns to rack up 277 rushing yards and 770 receiving yards. His stellar performances sparked his ranking as a five-star rookie on multiple platforms and made him widely talked about as the best player and widest receiver among his peers in the country. In this capacity, Stefon Diggs received an invitation to participate in the US Army American Bowl in 2012. Stefon didn’t lose touch when he joined the University of Maryland Terrapins football team. Honoring the scholarship he received from the institution, he blazed for his team from 2012 to 2014. For his many accomplishments with the team, he was in 2014 named to the All-Big Ten second team. Stefon retired from his college career after his remarkable junior season and entered the NFL Draft for the year 2015. This saw him drafted by the Minnesota Vikings as the 146th overall pick in the 5th round; a decision that The Vikes and their fans are still very happy with.

His brother and his family

The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver’s parents are Aron and Stephanie Diggs. Stefon is the eldest of their three sons and is now the father figure in the family. In this case, Aron, his father, died in 2008 after congestive heart failure.

While we can’t know what’s going on with his mom Stephanie right now, it’s common knowledge that Stefon’s brothers Darez and Trevon are set to take the NFL by storm like their sibling. While 1995-born Darez plays for the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) Blazers, 1998-born Trevor is with the University of Alabama Crimson Tide.
