The news of Sage Stallone’s death hit the Hollywood industry like a tornado intensely pierces the hearts of his family and friends. One can only imagine the pain and sorrow of the family, especially his parents. Sage, the eldest son of legendary actor Sylvester Stallone, was found dead on July 13, 2012.
The unfortunate event would have gone away with what we prefer to call ordinary grief. That wasn’t the case, however, as the news came amid uncertainty and controversy over his sudden and strange silence. Apart from that, we know about the death of the late actor.
Sage Stallone short biography
Sage Moonblood Stallone was a household name in the film industry. Like his father, he was a notable actor and also a film producer and director. He was born on May 5, 1976 to Sylvester Stallone and his first wife Sasha Czack. Sage and Seargeoh Stallone are the two sons of Sylvester and Sasha. He had three half-sisters; Sixtin, Sophia and Scarlet Stallone, Sylvester’s daughters with his third wife, Jennifer Flavin.
For a love of art, he attended the University of North Carolina School of Arts. As an actor, he starred in several Hollywood hits along with his father. In fact, Sage Stallone made his debut in one of the Rocky franchises Rocky V alongside his father. There the duo played father and son in the film. Sage is also known for many directorial works. He was last seen in the film The Agent (2010).
Say Stallone’s death
On the fateful morning of July 13, 2012, the Los Angeles housekeeper had gone to check on him after being told to do so by his mother. The housekeeper did as directed only to find a lifeless sage in his room. Reportedly, no one had heard from Sage for days before he was found dead, so his mother decided to have his housekeeper examine him.
Unfortunately, he was already dead and that, of course, left his parents and everyone else confused, shocked and in grief. A funeral was held on July 21, 2012 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Los Angeles. He was buried in Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery.
Cause of death: what we know so far
No drugs or traces of drugs were found at the scene of his death. It was reported that some prescription bottles were found at the scene, although they were empty. In fact, an over-the-counter Tylenol, a pain reliever, was found. After an autopsy report, it was reported that Sage Stallone died of coronary artery disease caused by atherosclerosis.
It had been speculated that the former filmmaker died of complications from an overdose. This speculation was soon discussed on various media platforms, leading to various assumptions about the entertainer’s death.
Sage was considered addictive by so many when he was alive, which is why the overdose reports at the time of his death took precedence. This has always been the idea behind many sudden celebrity deaths in the entertainment industry.
But in his report, Lt. Fred Corral of the coroner’s office said the only medication found in him was the painkiller. The report also revealed that no traces of drugs were found in his system, as speculated by the public. This, in a way, shattered the initial public opinion surrounding Sage Stallone’s death.
The drug allegations spurred the actor Sylvester Stallone to make a public appeal and demand that such reports of his son’s death be dropped. Already busy, the family asked that they mourn their son and brother in peace. It was indeed a great relief for the entire Stallone family when the coroner reported no trace of drugs or overdoses in Sage’s system.
