Famous American football coach Mike Tomlin is one of the most admired coaches in American football history, not only because he is the 40th coach in NFL history to win 100 games, but also because that he won those matches faster than his predecessors.

American football coach, Michael PettawayTomlin was born on March 15, 1972 in Hampton, Virginia. He was born into a football-loving family with his father, Ed Tomlin, who was a renowned player in the 1960s. He attended high school at Denbigh High School in Newport News, Virginia and graduated in 1990 before moving on to joining the College of William and Mary, where he became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity – a collegiate Greek-letter fraternity founded in 1911 by Brother Watson Diggs. , also known as ‘The Dreamer’ and a host of ten African-American students. He went on to earn a degree in sociology from the university.

Coaching career

Mike Tomlin’s coaching career began in 1995 when he became the Virginia Military Institute wide receivers coach. The following year he worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Memphis. There he also had the opportunity to coach special teams and defensive backs. In 1997, he moved to Arkansas State University, where he was hired first as a wide receiver coach and later as a defenseman coach. He was also hired by Arkansas State University to train their defensive backs. He served there for two years before moving to the University of Cincinnati, who hired him in 1999 to coach their defensive backs.

2001 to 2005 was one of Tomlincar’s successful years as he marked his first position in the National Football League (NFL) as a defenseman coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There he learned the Tampa 2 defense which later helped him throughout his coaching career.

Mike Tomlin and his wife Kiya are blessed with three children – a daughter born in 2006 named Harlyn Quinn and two sons – Michael Dean, born in 2000, and Mason, born in 2002.
