LeGarrette Blount is an American professional running back who currently plays in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was born in the family of Gary and Barbara Blount on December 5, 1986 in Madison, Florida, United States.

Blount’s NFL journey began in 2010 as an unmodified free agent with the Tennessee Titans. Subsequently, the same year, he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the start of the 2010 NFL season.

In his early days in education, LeGarrette Blount attended Taylor County High School in Perry, Florida, and while in college, he participated in two sports: football and track and field. For four years, he was a starting lineup on the school football team and ran for 1,000 yards three times.

He was an award-winning All-States second-team player preparing as a senior by competing in various track and field events like the 100m (11.34s), long jump (22-1 or 6.75m) and shot put ( 53-2 or 16.22m). Also, Blount belonged to the 4 × 100 meters team.

There he played for two seasons, rushing for over 1,000 yards each season. He racked up 367 carries for 2,292 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns. After playing so well on the school team, he became the No. 1 target for junior colleges after The Clarion-Ledger rankings and received Junior College All-America honors. By the time he completed his sophomore year, “discovered” his previous misjudgment and placed the soccer star as No. 12 in the overall Junior College Top 100. LeGarrette Blount became highly sought after by but in December 2007 he signed for Oregon to play for the Oregon Ducks and performed well throughout the season. However, he missed several training sessions towards the end of the season and as a result was handed an indefinite suspension from the team on February 10.
