Lazaro Alonso, a 1.83 m tall male, was born to Afro-Cuban parents on March 25th of March 1974 in Washington, D.C. Due to his Afro-Cuban descent, Laz is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish.
Laz Alonso lost his father at an early age and was raised practically only by his mother (this explains his sentimental attachment to single mothers). Lazaro began his career in showbiz as a VJ However, prior to his BET VJ stint, Laz had appeared in music videos for two of the best musicians of their day, Aaliyah and Toni Braxton.

History talent will eventually be used in the made-for-TV movie The Disappearing Deeds (2000), where he had a supporting role alongside Wesley Snipes and Sanaa Lathan. He played the role of Richard in the comedy 30 Years to Live (2001).
In 2002 he was cast as Craig Lewis in Christopher Cherot’s G “And Eddie” in an episode of NBC’s TV drama Providence ”.
