Regardless of all the side entertainment, Ramseya since entering the league, has continued to grow as a player to become one of the top corners of coverage in the NFL. His extraordinary work ethic and competitiveness coupled with his natural physical abilities make him a dream player for any coach in the league.

Biography of Jalen Ramsey

On October 24, 1994, in Smyrna, a suburb of Nashville, Tennessee, Jalen Lattrel Ramsey was born as his parents’ second child; Margie and Lamont Ramsey. The future NFL superstar had a normal upbringing that was dominated by sports, as his father, a firefighter who had played college football, taught the sport to his sons in hopes they would reach the major leagues.

As a schoolboy, Ramsey excelled in the classroom and on the pitch. While working hard to earn a bee in math in college, he was playing and somewhat dominating the older kids in football. He first went to Ensworth High School in Nashville, Tennessee, but soon left his wits and skills at Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee. Here, Ramsey competed in football and athletics and was very dominant in both sports. He notably broke the Tennessee state record at age 16 in the long jump. However, it was his football skills that caught the attention of colleges, with the University of Tennessee offering him a scholarship.

Despite this offer, and originally committing to play for the University of Southern California, Ramsey enrolled at Florida State University. As a true college freshman, he started all 14 games, the first player to do so since legendary Dion Sanders and went on to help his team win the 2013 ACC Championship and BCS National Championship. He recorded 49 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 interception and 1 pass breakup. As a sophomore, he was ACC champion again, playing in 14 games and managing 80 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles and 12 pass breakups.

Meanwhile, Jalen Ramsey had begun to grow into a confident young man. His stats and on-field displays meant he could trash talk his opponents, but more importantly, it signaled he was ready to head to the NFL. Ramsey went on to play another season of college football, recording 52 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery, and 9 pass breakups before announcing plans to forfeit his senior year.

He attended the NFL Combine and cemented his projection of being a top ten draft pick by completing all of the combine and positional drills and performing very well. When the time came, Ramsey was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 5th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and the rest was history.

Why was he suspended?

Jalen Ramsey received his first NFL suspension on August 13, 2018 after staying away from disciplinary issues during his first two years in the league. The Jaguars suspended him for an entire week for ranting to the media after an altercation between teammates Dante Fowler Jr. and Yannick Ngakoue after practice. Ramsey first used profane language to blast the media for filming the incident before taking to Twitter to criticize them further.

In the statement regarding his suspension, the Jaguars said Ramsey was suspended for violating team rules and displaying conduct befitting a Jaguars football player.

Is he gay?

Like many other high profile people, the internet has suggested that Jalen Ramsey might be gay because of his supposed non-male body language and mannerism. The cornerback found himself the recipient of homophobic jokes after he was shown rolling his eyes, shrugging and flipping his hair in a locker room interview.

But to answer the question, Ramsey is not gay. If you need proof, what about the fact that he is the father of a baby girl born in July 2018 to his girlfriend, Breanna Tate, the younger sister of Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate.
