Dexter Fowler was born on March 22, 1986. His full names are William Dexter Fowler and his birthplace is the great city of Atlanta, Georgia. During his high school years, he attended Milton High School in Alpharetta, Georgia. While most of his friends were into other sports, such as basketball and football, Dexter’s interests were always in baseball. As early as his high school days, Fowler captured local attention when he hit .457 with 14 runs for 105 in at-bats.
When it was time to go to college, Fowler had to decide between baseball and college. He chose baseball, rejecting both Harvard and the University of Miami. After actually committing to Miami, the lure of major league baseball proved to be too strong. He is an Olympic bronze medalist after his exploits at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. The couple married in 2012 and have been together ever since. Her full name is Darya Aliya Baghbani Fowler and what you probably didn’t know is that she is from Iran. When the President’s travel ban policy was at its height, she and Dexter were barred from being able to visit family in Iran and Dexter had an opinion on that. Although generally a fairly modest and non-aggressive figure, Dexter criticized the ban.
In February 2014, they gave birth to their first child Naya Iman Fowler (daughter). Naya has often been touted as the cutest kid in MLB. If you follow Dexter or Aliya on social media, you may have had the privilege of witnessing such beauty. A few times he posts videos of his reaction to seeing dad appear on screen.
