He has worked as a producer on shows such as Alien Hunter (2001) and a segment of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2010, Yost was also the field producer for the British Channel 4 documentary series, You Are What You Eat.
He was also a licensing manager at Geneon Entertainment, where he sold television shows and films to networks such as MTV, Showtime, Cartoon Network, Starz, and Encore.
While Yost was on the Power Rangers show, his character Billy was known for one of his twists, “Affirmative.” He has co-owned affirmative clothing company Power Rangers with brothers Andrade, Mason and Cris since 2016 and is developing a positive image of how to validate, embrace and believe in yourself.

David Yost revealed he struggled with accepting his sexuality during his time on the Power Rangers series. Although it was initially believed he left the show due to insufficient pay, the actor revealed in a 2010 interview that he could no longer handle harassment from members of the production crew who had targeted him because he was gay.
The interesting part, though, is that it wasn’t just the crew members who couldn’t come to terms with Yost, who couldn’t face the fact that he was gay either. So he made attempts to change his sexual orientation by undertaking conversion therapy for two years. After several failed attempts leading to frustration and a nervous breakdown, Yost took the ultimate step in accepting and coming to terms with who he is.
He was in a psychiatric hospital for five weeks and then moved to Mexico for a year. After that, he finally embraced his sexuality and came out of the closet.
Despite making headlines about being gay, nothing has been heard about his partner. It is not known if he is married or single.
