Burnie Burns is an American screenwriter, actor, filmmaker, comedian and host. The Texas-born multi-talent and co-founder of Hahn Teeth is of French and Canadian descent. He’s Hahn Teeth ‘s chief creative officer, but he’s best known for his work on the Red vs. Blue series.

Burns was born Michael Justin Burnie on18. January 1973, in Rochester, New York, to a physicist father. After Burns was born, his family moved to Texas, where he spent his childhood and also went to school there. His nickname, Burnie, was given to him by a senior in his high school days at Alief Elsik High School to identify him among his other classmates who also share his first name, Michael. While at school, Burns wanted to be a doctor. He spent most of his final years at Southwest Memorial Hospital learning basic medical practices.

After high school, he enrolled to study at Notre Dame and was accepted, but was unable to attend because his family could not afford to pay his tuition. This led to Burns settling at the University of Texas. At the end of his studies he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

His interest in film developed during his studies. He joined Texas Student Television (TSTV) in college. While with TSTV , he created a show titled Taste The show proved to be the longest-running show created by a student. In one of the episodes of the show he played the lead actor Adam Sandler.

In his senior year, Burns was determined to produce a film. He and his roommates Matt Hullum and Joel Heyman have started production on a film called The Timetable The film was shot over three months in 1997 with a budget of $9,000. The trio received an offer of $25,000 to sell the film, but turned it down as they didn’t want to change the plot. They found it difficult to distribute and monetize the film. They were excited because they couldn’t distribute it properly. After graduating from university, the three friends broke up. Matt Hullum and Joel Heyman moved to Los Angeles while Burns took a job at a local technical support company.

In 2012, Burns came out with a trailer for Red vs. Blue. The series had many production problems and as a result of the problems, the screen could not be created. The events he witnessed while producing the series led him to start his own company called “Rooster Teeth” with the help of some of his colleagues. Under his newly formed company, he published the first episode of the series, which aired in 2003.

The series, which was originally intended to last only one season, has garnered so much attention and popularity on the internet and has continued to air to this day. In the years that followed, they worked with several game companies to promote games.

In 2005, Burns and his colleagues developed another series, titled The Stranger , in partnership with Electronic Arts to promote the publisher’s new game, The Sims 2.

They soon created another series entitled PANIK Released in 2006, the series had five episodes and was used as a promotional icon for the game FEAR.

Burns continued to produce subsequent series which helped promote other games. As in 2012, Burns produced a documentary called MineCraft: The Story of Mohang. The documentary told about the company that produced the popular game Minecraft.

In 2015 he starred in the 28 th season of The Amazing Race where he competed against his fiancee Ashley Jenkins and placed fourth.

Burnie Burns first married Time to Jordan Burns in 2000. The couple ended their marriage of over a decade in 2011. Over the course of their marriage, the couple had two children together, JD and Teddy Burns.

Burnie Burns is engaged to his American girlfriend Ashley Jenkins. Ashley Jenkins was born on May 3, 1982 in Ogden, Utah. She is an on-camera presenter and co-founder of Frag Dolls, formerly part of UniSoft Playgroup. She also founded Das Wissen, a subsidiary of her fiancé Hahn Teeth.

The pair began dating when Ashley joined Burns on Rooster Teeth They were rivals in season 28 of The Amazing Race in 2015. In 2016, Burns popped the question and Ashley answered yes. Since then the couple has been engaged. Currently, Burn’s family consists of his two children, JD and Theodore Burns, and his fiancée, Ashley Jenkins.
